Tuition
Unprecedented Value
A Waldorf education is known for its rich, hands-on learning, small class sizes, and deep attention to child development. Across the United States, annual tuition for Waldorf schools commonly ranges from $15,000–$30,000 per year. Our annual tuition of $6,000-$7,200 reflects something truly special: a school community that works together to make this education accessible without compromising its quality or integrity. With the Idaho tax credit of up to $5,000/child, tuition is even more affordable!
At our school, families are active partners in building the learning environment. Through volunteering, supporting school events, and contributing time and skills, parents help sustain the programs that make our school unique; from farm-to-table learning to handwork, the arts, and outdoor education.
This shared commitment allows us to offer a rich Waldorf-guided education that would otherwise be out of reach for many families. Together, we are proving that when a community comes together with purpose, it can create something extraordinary for its children.
Our blog post “Making Private Tuition Affordable” has excellent tips and ideas to make this dream a possibility.
"Waldorf education fosters not just intelligence but character, not just knowledge but wisdom, not just success but significance."
– Ernest Boyer Jr.
2026-2027 Tuition and Fees
Tuition at Rooted Meadows is an investment in academics AND it’s an investment in people, community, and long-term impact. Our blog shares how tuition directly supports student growth, exceptional educators, and the programs that make our school distinctive.
We strive to be thoughtful stewards of our community’s resources, prioritizing what most directly benefits children’s learning and well-being. Our goal is to keep costs as accessible as possible while maintaining the quality, depth, and integrity of the education we provide.

Up to $5,000 per Child
The Idaho State Parent Choice Tax Refund started in January of 2025. Each family can apply for and receive funds varying but up to $5,000 per child with no limit on the number of children per family. It is the individual family’s responsibility to apply independently.
The program gives priority to parents whose modified adjusted gross income doesn’t exceed 300% of the federal poverty level. In addition, applicants must keep receipts such as the Clarity tuition billing statement for qualifying expenses. All other applicants will be placed on a waitlist until the Tax Commission has processed priority applications. The Tax Commission will process all applications in the order in which it received them.
This is a first-come, first-served state program, so we recommend you apply as soon as the application opens each January.

The payment plan examples outlined here assume a single child enrolled for the full school year. If you have 2 children, then you can double the amounts listed, if you have 3 children, you can triple, etc.
Note: If you enroll mid-year, you will have a pro-rated tuition plan that will be paid in full by the end of May.

Investing in What Matters Most
The Balance of Tuition & Funding
Like most independent schools, tuition at Rooted Meadows covers only a portion of the actual cost to operate our school and sustain our rich, holistic programming. To bridge this gap and keep our education accessible and thriving, collective fundraising isn't just helpful—it is vital. We rely on the active, creative participation of our entire community to help us grow.
We ask every family to step into this cycle of giving by expanding our reach:
Activate Your Network: Reach out to friends, family, and extended circles who value alternative education.
Engage Local Businesses: Ask the companies, shops, and services you frequent to support or sponsor your child’s school.
Double Your Impact: Inquire whether your employer offers a corporate donation-matching program.
Spread the Word: Share our campus needs and fundraising campaigns on your social media platforms to connect us with a broader community.
Together, our shared investment ensures Rooted Meadows remains a beautifully nourished space for our children to grow.
