26-27 Application Deadlines

March 15: Priority Deadline

June 30: Regular Deadline

Late & Mid-Year Applicants: Based on Openings

Welcome

We are thrilled you are considering The Rooted Meadows School to begin growing your child's love of learning. Each child is honored and guided through their seasons of childhood. Being part a Waldorf community is a wonderful and supportive experience and thrives best when each family believes and connects with the educational pedagogy and experience they have chosen for their child.

The admissions process and steps help both the school and families to be confident that this school is a good fit and will be able to support the child's social, emotional, and academic success.

Application and Enrollment

  • To apply you will need to submit the application with any necessary supporting documents such as:

    • Transcripts (grades 1+)

    • IEP/504 (if applicable)

    • Neuropsychology eval (if applicable)

    • Teacher Reference

    Note for age cut-offs:

    • 1st grade: Age 6 before March 15th

  • Our goal is to ensure that we are able to meet the needs of every child enrolled in our school. The best way to do that is to observe every applicant in an educational setting. You will receive an email to schedule a time within 2 weeks of the completed application packet.

Note: If we determine that your child’s visit would not be safe for them or our current children, we will reach out to help you withdraw your application and refund the application fee. Examples of visits that wouldn’t be safe:

    • Your child has complex medical needs that require advanced training for adequate care.

    • Your child has a recent history of behaviors that have placed others in harms way.

  • Within 1 week of your child’s completed observation, you will receive an email notification to share the admission decision.

In the event that your child is admissible, you will receive a link through Clarity, our contract and billing platform, to create an account and sign the contract. You will have 2 weeks to submit the enrollment packet, thus accepting the offer of admission.

    Note:

    • All parents of accepted children must read the Parent and Student Handbook before signing the contract.

  • Within 2 weeks of being offered admission, you must submit the enrollment packet to join the school.

Please note as part of enrollment, every child must submit the following health documents:

The Observation Review Process

Guiding Questions

When we make admissions decisions, we always return to two guiding questions, keeping each child’s well-being at the center of our hearts. Our greatest hope is to welcome children we truly feel prepared to nurture and support. We never want to be a stumbling block along a child’s educational path.

First, we thoughtfully consider whether a child is developmentally ready for our program, taking into account both social growth and academic readiness.

Next, we reflect on whether our school is well equipped to meet the individual needs of the child in front of us. We carefully consider each child’s learning style and support needs in relation to the resources we currently have in place.

Educational Support

We believe every child deserves an education where they feel supported, understood, and able to grow. With that belief in mind, we admit only those students we feel can truly thrive within the scope of what we offer since we do not at this time have any therapist, special education instructors, counselor, etc. that could provide the extra assistance and learning support. If we determine that our school may not be the best fit, we commit to sharing our observations openly and kindly, along with thoughtful suggestions to support you as you continue the search for the right educational home for your child.

If you know or expect your child will need support, read more about the limitations of the support we have available.

A Partnership Like Rain & Sunshine

The educational journey of a child is most successful when it is supported by a "bridge" built from both ends—the home and the school. When these two worlds align, the child feels a sense of consistency, security, and purpose.

At Rooted Meadows, this partnership is the heartbeat of our community. Here is why this synergy is essential:

  • Holistic Consistency: Waldorf education flourishes when the rhythms of the classroom are mirrored in the home. This harmony allows the child to fully immerse themselves in their development without the confusion of conflicting values.

  • A Village Mentality: We aren’t just a school; we are a community. Active family involvement ensures that the "social soil" in which your child grows is rich, supportive, and intentional.

  • Shared Stewardship: By committing to our principles, parents become active co-creators of the school’s mission, ensuring that every festival, lesson, and interaction serves the highest good of the child.

Our Expectations for Enrollment

To ensure we are walking this path together with a shared map, Rooted Meadows requires each parent to thoroughly read the Family Handbook prior to signing the enrollment contract. Aligning on our mission and vision from day one ensures that every family at Rooted Meadows is fully informed and inspired by the Waldorf principles that guide us. This clarity prevents future misunderstandings and ensures we remain a unified circle around the children we serve.
