Guiding Questions

When we make admissions decisions, we always return to two guiding questions, keeping each child’s well-being at the center of our hearts. Our greatest hope is to welcome children we truly feel prepared to nurture and support. We never want to be a stumbling block along a child’s educational path.

First, we thoughtfully consider whether a child is developmentally ready for our program, taking into account both social growth and academic readiness.

Next, we reflect on whether our school is well equipped to meet the individual needs of the child in front of us. We carefully consider each child’s learning style and support needs in relation to the resources we currently have in place.

Educational Support

We believe every child deserves an education where they feel supported, understood, and able to grow. With that belief in mind, we admit only those students we feel can truly thrive within the scope of what we offer since we do not at this time have any therapist, special education instructors, counselor, etc. that could provide the extra assistance and learning support. If we determine that our school may not be the best fit, we commit to sharing our observations openly and kindly, along with thoughtful suggestions to support you as you continue the search for the right educational home for your child.

If you know or expect your child will need support, read more about the limitations of the support we have available.

Why Rooted Meadows?

Children educated in Waldorf-guided environments:

  • Develop deep conceptual understanding rather than surface memorization

  • Learn how to think, problem-solve, question, and synthesize

  • Build strong executive function skills: focus, perseverance, self-direction

These skills support long-term academic success, especially as learning becomes more complex throughout their lives.
