An excellent academic foundation isn’t enough. To live a whole life, one must learn to be fully human.

“Of course, we want our children to learn to read and write and do math, but that perspective of education is too narrow… All children have the possibilities of growing in character. So make sure whatever curriculum you use supports that goal of shaping your child’s mind and heart toward what is good and noble.”

Charlotte Mason

  • Instilling foundational habits in early childhood shapes a child’s character, resilience, and lifelong well-being. Through the Waldorf tradition, Rooted Meadows transforms daily tasks—from caring for our physical spaces to meaning study routines to nurturing the self and others—into lessons of deep respect, self-discipline, and habits of excellence needed to thrive.

  • Rooted Meadows places a strong emphasis on gratitude, serving, helping, pitching in, and giving back. These attitudes and habits are what will bring much needed goodness and change in the world.

Students foster classrooms of acceptance through discussions and practices, helping one another in academics rather than competing, caring for younger classes, and class service projects.

Parents’ positive attitude and actions give worthy role models to emulate. Each parent is required to volunteer time helping in classrooms, field trips, fundraisers, and putting on the amazing school festivals.

    Rudolf Steiner reflected by saying:

"A healthy social life is found only, when in the mirror of each soul the whole community finds its reflection, and when in the whole community the virtue of each one is living."

  • True education does more than fill a mind—it forms and shapes one’s character. By teaching through vibrant stories, the rich lessons of history and literary figures, and the powerful living examples, we give children a moral compass for life’s journey.

Our Waldorf-inspired curriculum and hands-on Farm-to-Table program transform these lessons into lived experiences. Whether caring for a seedling or learning from the past, children discover how their choices impact the world around them. These character building moments become the core roots that nourish each child, providing the inner strength and resilience needed to withstand any of life's storms.

The core roots of Rooted Meadows are:

    • Integrity – Doing what is right, even when no one is watching.

    • Empathy – Understanding and sharing the feelings of others.

    • Gratitude – Recognizing and appreciating the beauty and blessings in each day.

    • Courage – Facing challenges with a brave heart and an open mind.

    • Respect – Honoring the dignity of ourselves, our peers, and our world.

    • Stewardship – Tending to the earth and our community with care and responsibility.

    • Resilience – Bouncing back from difficulties with renewed strength and hope.

    • Creativity – Imagining new possibilities and bringing unique gifts to life.

  • The paradox of service is that in lifting others, we are ultimately lifted ourselves.

Waldorf education places a profound emphasis on serving and giving back to the world, encouraging children to look beyond themselves and see how they can positively impact others. We call this Being a Force of Goodness. By shifting the focus from what we can get to what we can give, we cultivate a lifelong attitude of abundance.

When children learn to serve, they unlock incredible personal benefits. Studies show that active giving fosters deep emotional resilience, reduces anxiety, and boosts overall happiness. By experiencing the joy of contributing to something greater than themselves, our students develop a profound sense of belonging, heightened empathy, and the confident realization that they possess the power to change the world for the better.

Service is a habit formed through daily rhythms and shared community efforts. We bring this ethos to life through three distinct pillars:

    • Daily Acts of Classroom Service: Inside the school, children learn the joy of helping through small, everyday acts—whether it's assisting a peer, caring for our school spaces, or preparing a shared meal.

    • Parent Sunshine Committees: Our beautiful community of parents leads by example. Through Sunshine Committees, families come together to lift, support, and bring warmth to our school community during times of need or celebration.

    • Annual Service Projects: Each year, our entire school coordinates larger community outreach initiatives, allowing students to see the tangible, transformative power of collective goodwill in the broader world.

Why Rooted Meadows?

At Rooted Meadows, children are truly seen, nurtured, and inspired to grow in to compassionate and creative adults. In our small, close-knit community, expert Waldorf teachers guide learning, families play an active role, and every day honors childhood, sparks curiosity, and builds lasting confidence.

We offer an education that protects the magic of childhood, builds academic mastery, and feels like home.

  • Time and time again, research shows that the greatest impact on success academically and in life is quality time, spent with family.

With that in mind, we have designed our school take to cover all necessary academic material within 5 hours Monday - Thursday.

We have also designed the Friday BRANCH program to function as an opportunity for children to pursue interests supported by Rooted Meadows parents and local experts.

Our hope is that this schedule readily allows more: family dinners, outdoor excursions, hobbies, reading, and free play in general.

Family connection, play, and peace is important to us and we have designed our school in a way to honor that value while still supporting children as they receive a rigorous and quality education.

Sometimes, you can have it all with a little creativity.

  • Our curriculum is designed with child development at the heart.

We honor the need for play and pre-academic skills during early childhood to best prepare children for academic work starting in the 1st grade.

Through the grades, the content and method are chosen to meet the inner questions and interests of children at each age. In doing this, information feels alive and learning becomes joy-filled and applicable.

  • Our school community is made up of families who are excited to be part of their child’s learning journey and to support one another along the way.

Parents play an active and meaningful role in the life of our school. By sharing their time, talents, and resources, families help create a vibrant, nurturing environment and model generosity and engagement for their children. Together, we ensure our school has what it needs to offer every child our very best.

  • Our micro-school offers a close-knit learning environment where every child is truly known. Teachers build strong relationships with each student and tailor learning to individual strengths, interests, and readiness. This small setting fosters a sense of belonging, confidence, and collaboration rather than competition.

Our mixed-age classrooms support natural, relationship-based learning. Younger students are inspired by older peers, while older students grow through leadership and mentorship. Children progress at their own pace, developing empathy, responsibility, and a deep love of learning within a supportive community.

  • At $7,200 per year, our tuition reflects a deep commitment to making high-quality, relationship-centered education accessible to families in our community.

Families receive the benefits of a small school, individualized attention, and a rich, developmentally aligned learning experience at a fraction of the typical private-school price. We believe this combination of quality, care, and affordability is a rare opportunity; one that offers lasting value for children and families alike.

  • Waldorf-trained faculty learn to meet children academically, socially, and emotionally; designing lessons that are developmentally appropriate, engaging, and responsive to each child. Their work is grounded in careful observation, thoughtful planning, and a deep respect for how children grow and learn over time.

This training is both intellectually rigorous and deeply practical, requiring years of study, mentored classroom experience, and ongoing professional development.

By investing in professionally trained Waldorf educators, we ensure that children are guided by skilled, reflective teachers who bring intention, consistency, and care to every aspect of the school day. These are dedicated professionals whose expertise makes a meaningful difference in a child’s learning experience.
